Invesco Canada transitions manager and investment strategy
TORONTO, Feb. 23, 2012 /CNW/ - Invesco Canada today announced portfolio management and investment strategy updates to Invesco Core Canadian Equity Class. In addition, the Fund will be renamed Trimark Canadian Opportunity Class.
Effective April 2, 2012, the portfolio management will transition from a multi-manager team to a single management team. Alan Mannik will assume lead manager responsibilities for the Fund, with Ian Hardacre and Jason Whiting as co-managers. Using the proven Trimark discipline of applying a rigorous bottom-up fundamental investment approach to analyze the quality and value of individual companies, the Fund will have at least 90% of non-cash assets invested in Canadian securities with the remainder to be invested outside of Canada.
The portfolio management team will seek out companies whose competitive advantages provide the prospects for long-term growth, that have strong management, and that are believed to be undervalued in relation to their intrinsic value.
Specializing in Canadian equities, Mr. Mannik is the co-manager for Trimark Canadian Fund/Class, Trimark Select Balanced Fund and Trimark North American Endeavour Class. He began his investment career in 2003 at Scotia Merchant Capital. Mr. Mannik earned HBA and MBA degrees from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Mr. Hardacre is the Head of Canadian Equities for Trimark, lead portfolio manager for Trimark Canadian Fund/Class and Trimark Select Balanced Fund, and co-manager for Trimark North American Endeavour Class.
Mr. Hardacre earned an MBA and a B.Comm. from McMaster University, and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
