Introducing the Palais des congrès de Montréal's first ever Harvest market, on October 28 and 29
FrançaisMONTRÉAL, Oct. 19, 2026 /CNW/ -- Urban harvests come to the Palais des congrès de Montréal. On October 28 and 29, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the public is invited to discover and purchase a variety of locally produced fresh vegetables, herbs, mushrooms, flowers, honeys and processed foods at the Harvest market, presented in the Palais' public space.
Organized by the Palais des congrès in collaboration with Laboratoire sur l'agriculture urbaine (AU/LAB), the market will feature produce grown on the Palais' green roof, in addition to bringing together several Montréal farms and agricultural initiatives. An opportunity to discover the diversity of what can be produced in the city and meet some of the people who are contributing to Montréal's position as the world capital of urban agriculture.
The following eight producers will be present:
- AU/LAB, with a selection of vegetables harvested on the Palais' green roof
- Full Pin, an urban farm in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve specialized in fresh greenhouse-grown mushrooms handpicked year-round
- Zaatar, a micro-farm inspired by Mediterranean agriculture, growing zaatar, tomatoes, peppers, basil, greens and other herbs
- Jardin KUMI Gardens, a rooftop gardening initiative, producing vegetables rooted in Japanese and Asian culinary traditions
- Asclépiade apiculture, an organization that develops apiaries to foster social integration and uses beekeeping as an intervention tool in prison environments
- Fleurs en ville, a flower farm employing local and seasonal eco-responsible floriculture, and the first to cultivate cut flowers on Montréal rooftops
- Emporium Safran Québec, which grows saffron in the heart of Lanaudière and on Montréal rooftops, notably the Palais' green roof
- Cuisine collective Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (CCHM) farm, dedicated to ecological farming, sociovocational integration, and food security
In addition to the market, the public can discover the Palais' green roof, one of the most important showcases and testing grounds for urban agriculture in Québec since 2016. Free guided tours, led by AU/LAB, will be an opportunity to explore this unique cultivation space and learn more about the variety of crops grown there. Since spaces are limited, preregistration is required via this link.
Hosting this first Harvest market is part of the Palais des congrès' commitment to making its public space a lively environment, connected to the city, where local initiatives are showcased, to the benefit of international visitors and Montrealers alike.
