The new Pfizer Préférence program provides substantial savings on the cost of original Pfizer medications

KIRKLAND, QC, June 16, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Pfizer Canada is proud to introduce Pfizer Préférence, a new program available to Quebec patients which covers a significant portion of the price difference between the generic and original version of certain Pfizer medications.
Patients are often unaware that they can ask to receive their original medication from their pharmacist and it can be a challenge for many to obtain the original medication they were prescribed. As a result, patient and physician choice is limited.
Pfizer Canada supports the goal of the Quebec government to ensure the sustainability of the healthcare system

In a survey conducted in January 2015 by Ensemble Strategies of 369 Quebec adults, 60% of Quebecers with chronic conditions* feel that it is ultimately their choice whether they receive a branded or generic prescription medication.[i]

"Working with their healthcare professionals, they are the best judge of the type of treatment that is most appropriate for them."
Quick and simple
Pfizer Préférence is simple to sign up for and use.
- Sign up to receive the card at www.pfizerpreference.ca..
- At your pharmacy, request your original Pfizer medication. Pay for it in full using your preferred method of payment.
- Take a picture or scan your Pfizer medication receipt and upload it to www.pfizerpreference.ca.
- Pfizer will reimburse part of the cost of your Pfizer medication onto your personalized Pfizer Préférence card.
- Patients may then use the card anywhere VISA is accepted.
Pfizer Préférence provides substantial savings on the cost of your original Pfizer medication. Coverage varies by brand and patients' primary drug insurance coverage. Pfizer Préférence is exclusively available to Québec residents. Patient with public drug coverage who wish to evaluate what savings they will receive can go to www.pfizerpreference.ca and use the calculator tool on the site.
