To celebrate the legacy of one of the 20th century's greatest humanitarians, the government of the Gabonese Republic is organizing an international symposium to promote an innovative and integrated approach to addressing the Triple Epidemic - HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis - in Africa.
During two days, over 200 delegates and speakers including Nobel Laureates, medical researchers, scientists, doctors, social sciences experts, NGOs, agencies and representatives of on the ground institutions as well as private sector stakeholders, will meet in Libreville to develop the Lambaréné Declaration.
The objective of this symposium, organized in memory of Albert Schweitzer's scientific and medical commitment, is to promote a new approach to three of the main diseases affecting Africa: HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
At the end of the symposium, the participants will adopt the Lambaréné Declaration, a concrete action plan for Gabon and more generally for promoting a stronger collaborative dynamic in Africa amongst all stakeholders.
