Citizen-led non-profit calls on Canada to lead the world in ratifying 11-principle Charter; e-petition sponsored by MP Elizabeth May to be presented in House of Commons May 26
VICTORIA, BC, May 7, 2026 /CNW/ - The International Peace Charter (IPC), a British Columbia (B.C.), Canada non-profit society dedicated to building a national and global movement for unity, peace, and well-being of humanity, will hold a public press conference on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PT at the Terrace Ballroom of the Inn at Laurel Point, 680 Montreal Street, Victoria, B.C.
The press conference will officially launch International Peace Charter, its national campaign to have the Government of Canada ratify the International Peace Charter in 2026 and its Declaration of World Unity and Peace - A Divine Mission.
Once ratified, the IPC's 11 Charter Principles would be integrated into national policy, offering a unified framework for advancing unity, peace, dialogue, truth and reconciliation and collective harmony. IPC envisions Canada becoming the first nation in the world to ratify the Charter, with the movement subsequently expanding across the globe.
The launch follows a significant milestone:
- IPC's federal e-petition, sponsored by Elizabeth May, Member of Parliament and Leader of the Green Party of Canada, has been certified by the Clerk of Petitions with 1,140 signatures.
- E-Petition will be presented in the House of Commons on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 - one day before the Victoria press conference on May 27th - leading to a 45-day window for the Government of Canada to table a formal response.
"Canada will lead the World to unity, peace and well-being," said PriyankaKrishna KALIHARIOM, Executive Director, International Peace Charter. "Through ratification of the Charter and its 11 Principles, we are calling on our government - and all governments - to renounce war, commit to collective harmony, unity and peace, and invest in human well-being over military escalation. This is a citizen-led, non-partisan call to action, and it begins right here in Canada."
IPC describes its work as a Sacred effort grounded in the principle of "Peace With In, Peace With Out and Around" - the belief that lasting external peace begins with inner peace. The organization's strategy combines grassroots advocacy, a national paper-petition campaign, and direct engagement with federal government leaders, alongside what it describes as raising the collective consciousness through Meditation and Divine Music for the greater good of all.
"Unity, Peace and Happiness are Here and Now, True peace begins with in each of us. Spirituality, Meditation, Individual and Collective Consciousness and Divine Music are the Keys for World Magic - Unity and Peace. It is Time for the Humanity to Embrace the Power of Love and Not the Love of Power. Let's Experience Joy, Bliss, Peace, Happiness and Heaven On Earth" PriyankaKrishna KALIHARIOM added. "Our movement is rooted in the simple truth that to experience peace on the outside and around us, we must first find peace on the inside. We invite Canadians from every walk of life -and ultimately, citizens of every nation - to join us in this Sacred work."
"Meditation ultimately helps in raising the Individual and Collective Consciousness, Peace With In and in creating a Compassionate, Peaceful and a Happy World for All, Peace With Out", said Miles Craig, Founder and CEO, International Peace Charter.
Members of the media, elected officials, community leaders, and members of the public are invited to attend the May 27 press conference. Interviews with IPC leadership will be available on-site.
