One of the day's areas of focus includes the field of crisis communications including the "Dealing with Disasters Workshop." Peter Spurway, Vice President, Corporate Communications & Airport Experience for the Halifax International Airport Authority and Dan Bedell, Communications Director (Atlantic) for the Canadian Red Cross are among the speakers who will lead an aviation-oriented mock disaster. This session will offer on-the-ground crisis communications planning, with input from the leaders who have had to learn them first-hand. IABC Maritime Canada's ever popular Eye of the Political Storm Government Panel returns. Former Premier Dexter's Chief of Staff, Dan O'Connor, and Principal Secretary, Paul Black will provide insight into life as a government communicator, along with former journalist Jordi Morgan.
