<p>CAMBRIDGE, Mass., <chron>Sept. 14</chron> /CNW/ -- The Institutional Investor Education Foundation (IIEF), a leading forum for institutional investors world-wide, today announced additional participants for next Thursday's Global Shareholder Activism conference in <location>Toronto</location>, <location>Canada</location> - its ninth in this series and the first in <location>Canada</location> following IIEF's highly acclaimed conferences in New York, <location>London</location>, <location>Paris</location> and <location>Tokyo</location>.  The forum will bring together leading investors from a wide range of institutions with distinguished academics and advisors on corporate governance and shareholder activism.</p>

<p>The conference will be highlighted by a keynote speech by Ethiopis Tafara, the SEC's Director, Office of International Affairs; and in addition will include four compelling sessions covering the areas of executive compensation, enforcement, why Canadian banking regulations worked so well during the meltdown, and debate the provocative question 'Do investors have too much power?'</p>
