Inquest into the death of Dennis Clouthier announced

THUNDER BAY, ON, Feb. 8 /CNW/ - Dr. David H. Evans , Acting Regional Supervising Coroner for North Region, Thunder Bay Office, today announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Dennis Clouthier .

Mr. Clouthier , 38, died on October 12, 2007 , from injuries received during the course of his employment at the Hoyle Pond Mine in Timmins. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Clouthier 's death and the jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

The inquest will begin 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 8, 2010 , at Timmins City Hall, 220 Algonquin Boulevard East. Dr. Steven Bodley will preside as inquest coroner and Mr. Dale Cox will be counsel to the coroner.
