Industry leader Art Waldrop joins Avison Young in Atlanta

Enterprise solutions specialist becomes Principal, will work with corporate clients

ATLANTA, Jan. 28, 2014 /CNW/ - Steve Dils, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Atlanta office, announced today that commercial real estate industry leader Art Waldrop has joined Avison Young in Atlanta.

Effectively immediately, Waldrop joins Avison Young as a Principal, and will continue to specialize in office tenant representation while serving as a member of the firm's enterprise solutions team. He was most recently Managing Director of DTZ's Atlanta office.

In his new role, Waldrop will work closely with Rick Nash, who joined Avison Young in December 2013, and with whom Waldrop partnered previously at their predecessor firm. Waldrop and Nash will work with corporate clients in Atlanta and the Southeast on their outsourced real estate requirements.

Waldrop brings 20-plus years of experience to Avison Young. Prior to joining DTZ in 2008, he spent his earlier years working in corporate services roles for Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE as Senior Director and Senior Vice-President, respectively. Waldrop's recent experience includes assisting with the management of Alcatel-Lucent's and Greyhound Lines' North American portfolios, as well as performing significant work with distressed properties, including bankruptcy, receivership and real estate-owned (REO) property sales. During his career, he has been involved in approximately 3,000 transactions totaling more than $1 billion in value.

Waldrop holds Bachelor of Accountancy and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Mississippi and a MBA from Southern Methodist University. Waldrop is a member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors, and holds real estate licenses in Georgia and numerous other states.
