Industry champions recognized at BILD annual Chair's Dinner

GREATER TORONTO, Jan. 29, 2016 /CNW/ - Two members of the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) were recognized for the countless number of volunteer hours and immense contribution to the association and the industry at lastnight's annual Chair's Dinner.

Margaret Ward of Enbridge Gas Distribution was named Member of the Year for being at the forefront of the association's growth to 1,480 members by the end of 2015 as Chair of the Membership Committee.

"Margaret has been an invaluable ambassador of the association and the industry," said BILD Chair Steve Deveaux. "She thinks creatively when it comes to getting members engaged and has been instrumental in helping new members feel comfortable and existing members feel important."

Brendan Charters of Eurodale Developments was presented with the Chair's Award of Merit. As a member of the BILD Board and Executive Committee between 2010-15, Brendan represented the renovation sector but he also lent his voice as leader of the Young BILDers committee.

"As Chair of the yBILD committee over the last two years, he has worked hard to expand the committee's reach, bring educational programs to the association's young leaders and launch a volleyball tournament that raises funds for the association's community partner, Habitat for Humanity GTA," said Deveaux.

Every year the association's Chair recognizes members who have made a significant contribution to the association and the industry. Some past winners include: Darren Steedman of DG Group, Danielle Feidler of Tridel, Lysha DeFreitas of In2ition Realty.
