Indulge your Christmas Spirit at the St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School Traditions of Christmas Event
OAKVILLE, ON, Nov. 18, 2014 /CNW/ - St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School (SMLS), a premier independent day school in Oakville for girls Preschool to Grade 12, opens its doors to the general public this coming Saturday, November 22nd, for its annual Traditions of Christmas community festival.
SMLS Parent Association volunteer, Nadine Farran-Gatti, who has been working tirelessly with her co-convenors on organizing this event, says: "This special event has become a much-anticipated tradition for all members of the SMLS community – past and present – and every year, we love to welcome those who are not in any way related to the school to spend the day with our community."
There is so much planned for this annual festival, including a 9:00am Pancake Breakfast in the Dining Hall (pre-orders only), a seasonal performance by the Salvation Army Band at 10:00am on the Main Gym Stage, a Sentaler Outerwear Fashion Show featuring Millie Moms and their daughters on the Main Gym Stage at 11:00am, a series of musical performances in the Dining Hall by the SMLS Choirs at 12:30pm, and at 2:00pm, the Wish List Raffle Draws take place in the Student Lounge. There is definitely something for everyone at Traditions of Christmas!
From 9:30am-3:00pm, browse and shop from the selection of handcrafted goods at the Made in Canada Handmade Market. Enjoy a morning break, a delightful lunch, or an afternoon respite at the Christmas Café, featuring sandwiches and pizza, as well as coffee, tea, juices, and a wide assortment of baked goods. Get tickets for your wee ones for the SMLS Alumnae Association's ever-popular Reindeer Games carnival. They can also have their faces painted and mini-manicures! The Kris Kringle Shop and Lounge is the perfect place for kids to purchase gifts while their parents enjoy a coffee and cookie while they wait. Bursting with brand new inventory, this perennial favourite allows children to shop independently for special gifts for the ones they love. Lots of volunteers are ready to help with choices and budgets. Gifts are wrapped and tagged so that everything stays a surprise until Christmas!
Admission to Traditions of Christmas is by donation, with all proceeds going to support Home Suite Hope, a local charitable organization whose services provide transitional housing to a growing homeless population in Halton Region.
