TORONTO, Oct. 2, 2014 /CNW/ - Toronto Pearson is thrilled to announce its recent work with Google Maps to enhance the passenger experience by offering indoor Google Maps. Toronto Pearson is one of the first Canadian airports to offer indoor Google Maps.
Our passengers can now use Google Maps and Google Maps for mobile, to discover key points of interest in the areas pre-security and post-security in both our Terminals, before they board their flights. Indoor Google Maps enables passengers to zoom in and see the floor plans of our Airport to locate amenities, restaurants and retail locations.
"As Canada's leading airport, we consistently aim to enhance the passenger experience for the 100,000 passengers we serve daily and introducing this technology in Canada directly supports our strategic goals of improving our ability to connect with our Passengers," says Scott Collier, V.P. of Customer and Terminal Services, Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA). "It's important that we connect with passengers using the technology and platforms that meet their needs and exceed their expectations."
Indoor Google Maps at Toronto Pearson aims to help facilitate passenger flow and ease navigation for passengers of any language, ultimately providing a hassle-free airport experience.
"For thousands of people every day, Pearson is Toronto's gateway," said Aaron Brindle, spokesperson for Google Canada. "We are thrilled that Canadians and travellers from around the world can now navigate Toronto Pearson Airport with Google Maps."
