Increasing food shelf-life by 3x and more with Natur+L XTD

SAINT-HYACINTHE, QC, April 5, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - For the last 5 years, Natur+L XTD inc. (known as well as Natural HPP) offers to Canadian Food Processors a unique and natural process that extends shelf life of fresh products: High Pressure Process (HPP). This proven technology drastically minimizes the potential risk of contamination from the most common pathogens in the food processing sector. It reduces as well the need for chemical preservatives while maintaining the quality, texture and authentic taste of food.

The news of the day
Since April 1st, except for fish and seafood, Health Canada approved at large HPP to provide longer shelf-life, judging this process safe for the consumer after conducting many studies and validation for so many years. Natur+L XTD inc. worked over the last 4 years in collaboration with the food specialists at Health Canada, and they finally concluded on the removal of the process application from the "Novel Food" section.

Until March 31st 2016, Health Canada categorized the application of HPP in a very strict framework, requiring each group of food, or even each type of food, to be individually approved; these approvals were generating lots of efforts, time and money investments for the businesses and the Government. The very complicated elaboration of those cases was discouraging many food processors to submit applications and was a refrain to most innovations.
