IKEA wants to have a positive impact on people and the planet and be a partner for positive change in the local community. For every breakfast sold from August 22nd to 26th, IKEA will also donate one breakfast to Breakfast Club of Canada programs in the local community. Together, IKEA Quebec City co-workers and local Tree Canada staff will help to keep the community green, including the planting of 50 trees along St-Charles River earlier this year.
IKEA Quebec was constructed with sustainability in mind and will be LEED certified. Some of the sustainability features include electric vehicle charging stations and preferred parking for hybrid and electric vehicles, free lightbulb and battery takeback services and water conserving fixtures including sensor taps and dual-flush toilets and a living wall to purify air and provide a calming effect.
