IIBA® announces leadership transition

TORONTO, Aug. 23, 2013 /CNW/ - In just 10 years International Institute of Business Analysis has grown from an idea to a global brand with 26,000 members worldwide, and over 100 chapters in more than 60 countries. IIBA® is recognized as the voice of the BA profession.

The IIBA Board of Directors has discussed the long-term strategic direction of IIBA. The next three to five years will be about continuing the growth of the organization and the need to change and enhance our capability and efficiency. The Board has concluded new leadership is required to take the organization to the next level.

The Board thanks Kathleen Barret for her service and contributions over the last 10 years. The search will soon be initiated for a new President and CEO who will lead IIBA into the next phase of its evolution. In the interim, the IIBA Board of Directors has appointed Alain Arseneault to step in as President and CEO.

Mr. Arseneault  has been a volunteer with the organization for seven years, holding several functions covering Strategic Planning, Marketing and Communications. He has also been an active member of the Board of Directors during the past 3.5 years, recently as Chair of the Board. Alain has over 16 years of experience in IT and business, covering business analysis, project and change management.

"Kathleen Barret has been a pioneer in the creation of IIBA and a strong  advocate for the value  business analysis professionals deliver to organizations," says Indy Mitra, the Chair of the IIBA Board. "Ms. Barret  has been a visionary for the BA profession and has made significant contributions as a founding member and as President and CEO of IIBA."

During this leadership transition it is business as usual at IIBA. The association will continue to be responsive to members and other stakeholders, while implementing improved infrastructure and services with a focus on providing even greater value to members.

International Institute of Business Analysis is the independent non-profit professional association serving the growing field of business analysis to the international business community.
