WINNIPEG, Sept. 6, 2012 /CNW/ - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE: RBA) (TSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer, will sell hundreds of equipment items and trucks at an unreserved public auction in Winnipeg, MB on September 17, 2012, starting at 9 a.m. Each item will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of price—without minimum bids or reserve prices. Bidders can participate in the auction in-person, online in real time at www.rbauction.com or by proxy.
"We'll be bringing the equipment buying world to Winnipeg," said Jim Rotlisberger, Regional Sales Manager, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. "Every year Ritchie Bros. conducts hundreds of equipment and truck auctions around the world attracting hundreds of thousands of bidders both on-site and online. This unreserved Winnipeg auction has a great selection of equipment from owners around the province of Manitoba and we expect to attract bidders from across the country and internationally. All of our auctions are open to the public—and we have something for nearly every equipment user—so we invite you to come on down, inspect the equipment, register for the auction and get ready to bid. It's going to be a lot of fun."
More than 350 equipment items and trucks are featured in the auction, including crawler tractors, wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, truck tractors, aerial equipment and more—the equipment will be sold for dozens of owners, including more than 35 items for Hugh Munro Construction Ltd., a Winnipeg-based heavy construction contractor in business for more than 50 years.
"The Manitoba construction industry has been quite busy the last few years and local equipment owners like us are looking to upgrade their fleets so it's nice to have an auction right in our backyard," said Colleen Munro, President of Hugh Munro Construction. "Usually we have to travel to auctions across Canada and the United States so I hope to see more Ritchie Bros. auctions here in the future—we have been buying and selling with them for years and value their honesty and fairness."
