"Hudson's Bay Company has a rich history of supporting athletes as far back as the 1936, 1960, 1964 and 1968 Olympic Winter Games when Canadian mission team members and athletes sported the HBC striped blanket coat. We're proud to continue that support for the 2010 Canadian Olympic Team," said Jeff Sherman, CEO of Hudson's Bay Company.

"Hudson's Bay Company has been a thoughtful partner in the creation process and design of these uniforms for our Canadian Olympic athletes. The clothing captures our heritage, spirit and sport excellence and contributes greatly to what is an incredible moment in the careers of these athletes," said Chris Rudge, CEO and secretary general of the COC.

"We wanted to create a look for the 2010 Olympic Team that captures a contemporary Canadian look and feel while utilizing elements, like the parka and buffalo plaid, that have also been embraced as Canadian icons all over the world," said Suzanne Timmins, fashion director for Hudson's Bay Company. "We consulted Canadian athletes during the process and our designers' approach authentically reflects the attitude of Canadian athletes: training diligently and competing hard while having fun."

Key facts about the 2010 Canadian Olympic Team Uniform:

    - Canadian colours. The colours of the collection are represented by a
traditional palette of red and vintage white, strengthened by black
and combined with an athletic heather grey.

    - Great Canadian graphics. Influential work of many great Canadian
graphic designers from the modernist era in the 60's and 70's inspired
the Hudson's Bay Company design team to revisit and re-ignite a
classic clean design aesthetic to the collection.

    - Hudson's Bay Company branding. Combining the crest and the stripes,
the Hudson's Bay Company logo is steeped in tradition and reflects
rich heritage of the company that stood side by side with Canadians
       throughout their shared history.

    - Canada word mark. Clean and symmetrical, the Canada word mark features
the letter 'A' pointing upward to represent the mountain ranges and
slopes of British Columbia, Host Province of the 2010 Winter Games.
