Make a donation to your local food bank, and get a free Cinnamon & Sugar pastry
MONTREAL, Nov. 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - BeaverTails Pastries is proud to announce their "Free 'Tail" Charity Fundraiser. On Saturday, November 29 between 12:00 and 2:00 pm, participating BeaverTails stores will be handing out free Cinnamon and Sugar pastries in exchange for a donation to local food banks.
BeaverTails is working with local Food Banks to help give back to the community.
"Food insecurity is a big issue in Canada - 1 in 10 Canadians used food banks in 2013, 1/3 of which were children and youth. There is no better time than the season of giving to partner with local food banks and help contribute to alleviating food stress for Canadian families."
-Pino Di Ioia, BeaverTails CEO
The "Free Tail" day is a great incentive for people to start thinking about how they can contribute and help others locally, especially during the holiday season.
"At this time of year when the weather is getting colder and making our lives a little more difficult, it makes me think of how hard it would be to have to struggle to put food on the table, support and shelter your family. If I can help ease that struggle even a little and make life less stressful for a person or people then it is definitely worth it."
-David Hodds, BeaverTails Blue Mountain Franchisee
Participating locations include Saint John's, NL; Mont Tremblant, QC; Toronto, ON; Collingwood/Blue Mt, ON; Niagara Falls, ON, and Banff, AB.
BeaverTails pastries are deliciously addictive, whole-wheat Canadian pastries, hand-stretched to resemble the tail of a beaver and served piping hot with your choice of delectable toppings. Proudly satisfying your sweet tooth since 1978.
