New ERTH360 Wellness system integrates advanced filtration, fresh-air ventilation and engineered airflow into new homes for approximately $1 per day when financed with a mortgage.
TORONTO, Oct. 21, 2026 /CNW/ -- We think about the food we eat, the water we drink and the products we bring into our homes. But how often do we think about the air we're breathing inside our home?
ERTH360, a Toronto-based company focused on improving indoor environmental quality in new homes, wants homebuyers to think about air quality from the moment a home is designed and built. From how outdoor air enters a home to how it is filtered and circulated from room to room, the way a home is designed can affect the environment we experience every day.
Launching today, ERTH360 Wellness is an integrated indoor air quality system that brings together enhanced filtration, fresh-air ventilation, room-by-room airflow design and independent design testing and review to support cleaner indoor air and more consistent whole-home comfort. Scientific evidence related to ERTH360 Wellness has been reviewed by the Lung Health Foundation.
And unlike healthier-home features that have traditionally been associated with specialty or custom construction, ERTH360 Wellness is designed to be accessible to more homebuyers. The system is priced at $7,500, approximately $1 per day when financed over a 35-year mortgage at four per cent interest.
Founded by certified Building Biologist and housing innovation executive Andrew Guido, ERTH360 brings together building biology principles and building science to rethink how indoor air quality is addressed in new homes. Rather than treating it as an aftermarket consideration, ERTH360 integrates ventilation, filtration, air distribution and mechanical design into the home from the outset.
"We spend so much of our lives inside our homes, yet the quality of the indoor environment is often something we think about only after there is a problem," said Andrew Guido, Founder & President of ERTH360. "ERTH360 was created around a simple idea: if we think about indoor air quality when a home is being designed and built, we can be much more intentional about the environment we're creating for the people who will live there. Our goal is to make that approach practical and accessible to more homebuyers."
ERTH360 Wellness
The ERTH360 Wellness package is designed into the home from the outset rather than assembled through individual aftermarket solutions. It brings together six engineered features -- three homeowners can touch and three working behind the scenes -- designed to function as one coordinated system:
Three You Can Touch
- Whole-Home HEPA Purification: Filters air throughout the home using three stages of filtration, including HEPA-rated filtration certified to capture 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns in size.
- 5-Inch High-Efficiency Furnace Filter: Provides approximately four to five times more filter area than a standard 1-inch filter, supporting better filtration, longer filter life and fewer replacements.
- Enhanced Fresh-Air Ventilation: An upsized energy recovery ventilator (ERV) exchanges stale indoor air for fresh outdoor air while recovering energy, helping dilute indoor contaminants such as carbon dioxide. Incoming air passes through MERV 13 filtration, which helps capture fine outdoor particles from sources such as wildfire smoke and traffic pollution before they enter the home.
Three Working Behind the Scenes:
- Room-by-Room Airflow Design: Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, airflow is designed for each room so that the home's ventilation, filtration and heating and cooling systems work together.
- Independent Airflow Testing: Once installed, airflow throughout the home is independently measured and balanced to help ensure the system performs as designed.
- Independent Design Review: The home's mechanical design is independently reviewed against ASHRAE Standard 241, which addresses strategies for reducing exposure to airborne infectious particles.
Why This Integration Matters
Together, the six features are designed to support cleaner indoor air, more consistent comfort and greater peace of mind. What differentiates ERTH360 is not simply the individual equipment, but how each component is selected, sized and engineered to work together within the home's mechanical system.
Expanding ERTH360 Wellness Across New Home Communities
The launch builds on ERTH360's existing deployment in new homes. As of October 2026, 100 homes featuring ERTH360 Wellness had been completed and occupied in Empire Homes' Riverland community in Breslau, Ontario, with more than 140 planned overall.
This fall, the ERTH360 Wellness package will also become available as an optional upgrade at Wellwood, Empire Homes' newest master-planned community in the Niagara Region, where more than 2,000 homes are ultimately planned. Buyers will be able to incorporate ERTH360 Wellness as part of their new home rather than assembling individual indoor-air-quality solutions after occupancy.
"Every Empire home is built to high standards, including ENERGY STAR certification. ERTH360 Wellness builds on that foundation, giving buyers the option to add an integrated package of enhanced indoor air quality features designed into their home from day one. It's another way we're giving homebuyers choice as we continue to evolve how we design and build our communities," said Mark Lopreiato, Chief Operating Officer, Empire Homes Canada.
"Healthier housing shouldn't have to be limited to one-off custom projects," added Guido. "Working with established homebuilders gives us an opportunity to bring these features into more homes, making indoor environmental quality a more accessible consideration for everyday homebuyers."
Scientific Evidence Reviewed by Lung Health Foundation
Lung Health Foundation has reviewed third-party scientific studies provided by ERTH360 related to the Wellness Package.
The research spans residential ventilation, filtration, HEPA filtration, PM2.5 and ASHRAE Standard 241, and ERTH360 is authorized to use the "Scientific Evidence Reviewed By Lung Health Foundation" mark in connection with the package.
"Indoor air quality is an important part of the environments in which we live, work and spend our time," said Jessica Buckley, President & CEO of the Lung Health Foundation. "We are pleased to help raise awareness of the connection between indoor air quality and lung health. By contributing our expertise to the review of the scientific evidence, we hope to encourage evidence-informed approaches that can help Canadians create healthier indoor environments."
