<p><span class="xn-location">SAN FRANCISCO</span>, <span class="xn-chron">Nov. 22, 2010</span> /CNW/ -- Hotwire.com®, a leading discount travel site, today announced the results of the <span class="xn-chron">November 2010</span> Hotwire® Canadian Hotel Rate Report, which features the top five cities in <span class="xn-location">Canada</span> where hotel rates have dropped the most. When combined with Hotwire's already discounted prices, the Hotel Rate Report helps guide customers to the destinations that can maximize their travel dollars. For the second time this year, <span class="xn-location">Halifax</span>, Nova Scotia tops this month's report with an eight percent drop.</p>

<p><span class="xn-location">Halifax</span> is in it for the long haul, hanging on to the list for the past seven months. <span class="xn-location">Halifax</span> is a mostly a warm weather destination and as such, hotels there find themselves aggressively discounting their rates this season in order to draw in consumers. On top of great deals, travelers who visit <span class="xn-location">Halifax</span> have access to over 200 museums and historic sites including the popular Citadel Hill, an oddly shaped fort that offers breathtaking views of the city and surrounding harbors.</p>

<p>Along with the deep discounts available in <span class="xn-location">Halifax</span>, many markets in Ontario are still struggling to recover economically and thus rates are still down. These include the cities of Cambridge and <span class="xn-location">London</span> who are seeing six and five percent drops, respectively.</p>

<p>Hotwire is able to find great deals because it works with hotels, airlines and car rental companies to fill unsold inventory. This means that customers can find incredibly low deals on Hotwire, especially in cities like those on the Hotel Rate Report where prices are unseasonably low.</p>
