TORONTO, July 17, 2019 /CNW/ - According to the International Association of Professions Career College, non-traditional careers will top the most wanted list in 2019 and Harvard economist Larry Katz agrees. Katz reports that 94 percent of the net employment growth in the U.S. economy from 2005 to 2015 occurred in "alternative work".
Millennials are disrupting the 9-5, opting for non-traditional and portfolio careers that offer more flexibility. In a recent survey by Deloitte, 49 percent of millennials reported that they would, if they had a choice, quit their current jobs in the next two years. The Dean of IAP Career College says this exodus is already underway.
"It's typical in summer for recent graduates to start thinking about a new job but this year we've been inundated with inquiries about our online courses, especially Lifestyle Expert, Professional Organizer, Wedding Planner and Social Media Consultant," says Therese Goulet, Dean, IAP Career College. Registration for the college's forthcoming Cannabis Business Owner course is already underway, with upcoming courses filling up fast.
"IAP Career College has more than 100 certificate courses online that can be completed in six weeks part time. I'm pleased to say that over the past 20 years our career guides and courses have helped over half a million people find their dream jobs," says Goulet.
It's not only millennials that account for the college's surging enrollment - graduates include Gen Xers and new retirees looking to change or diversify their careers.
"I knew from a very young age that I had a passion for decorating and became interested in any source that could give me inspiration," says Donnette Anglin, an IAP Graduate. "I enrolled in the IAP Career College Interior Decorator certificate course and it was exactly what I needed. The online coursework was convenient as I was able to study in my own time and at my own pace, the reading material was clear, and the instructor support was exceptional whenever it was needed. I have since landed numerous paid contracts as an Interior Decorator. Thank you IAP Career College, your certificate has made a big difference to my life."
Courses are available on a rolling basis throughout the year and start at $97.00 USD. To learn more about IAP Career College or to enroll in a course, please visit: https://www.iapcollege.com/
