Meteorologists available to provide regional forecasts
OAKVILLE, ON, June 2, 2015 /CNW/ - Recent fluctuations in temperature across most of the country have left many Canadians wondering if a similar pattern will continue through the summer. To provide an overview of what's to come, The Weather Network's meteorologists have issued this year's Summer Forecast, predicting conditions for the months of June, July and August.
"This summer, we're seeing two main weather stories appear. A hot and generally dry season is expected for Western Canada, while Central and Eastern Canada will experience pleasant summer conditions on balance with near to below normal temperatures and near to above normal precipitation forecasted," said Chris Scott, Chief Meteorologist at The Weather Network. "In general, this summer looks similar to last year, but don't expect an exact repeat, there will be some key differences."
This year's Summer Forecast is driven in significant part by strengthening El Niño conditions in the Pacific Ocean.
