Horizons Active Floating Rate Bond ETF Wins Best Fixed Income ETF at 2013 Morningstar Canadian Investment Awards

TORONTO, Nov. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc. ("Horizons ETFs") is proud to announce that the Horizons Active Floating Rate Bond ETF ("HFR") won the Best Fixed Income ETF Award at the 19^th Annual Morningstar Canadian Investment Awards last night. HFR is an actively managed ETF sub-advised by Fiera Capital Corporation ("Fiera"), one of the largest fixed income managers in Canada.

Horizons ETFs had four nominations in two different categories. In the fixed income category, in addition to winning for HFR, Horizons ETFs was also nominated for the Horizons Active High Yield Bond ETF. The winner of the Best Fixed Income ETF Award was selected by a panel of jurors from the ETF analyst community.

HFR is designed to generate income that is consistent with prevailing short-term corporate bond yields while stabilizing the market value of the ETF from the effects of interest rate fluctuations. The ETF invests in a portfolio of Canadian debt securities and hedges the portfolio's interest rate risk to generally maintain a portfolio duration of less than two years.
