SASKATOON, SK, Sept. 29, 2026 /CNW/ -- The service and sacrifices of Canada's Veterans are an important part of our shared history. Across Saskatchewan, community organizations are helping Canadians learn about, honour and remember the people, places and events that have shaped our nation's military heritage.
Today, the Honourable Jill McKnight, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, highlighted approximately $55,000 in funding through the Commemorative Partnership Program for 21 projects across Saskatchewan that have been approved so far in 2026. These projects include exhibits, commemorative events and other activities that help Canadians learn about and remember Veterans and their service.
One of the funded projects is the Saskatoon Museum of Military Artifacts, which is receiving $5,000 for its Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Exhibit Renewal and Interpretation Project. The project will update and expand the museum's RCAF gallery with new themed exhibits and interpretive panels, helping visitors learn more about the experiences and contributions of those who served, including local Veterans.
Every story preserved, every artifact displayed and every act of remembrance ensures that the service and sacrifice of Canada's Veterans continue to resonate with future generations. These projects do more than commemorate history, they create opportunities for Canadians to connect with the individuals behind the uniform, to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy today, and to carry forward the values of courage, service, and dedication that Veterans exemplified. Across Saskatchewan, communities are ensuring these extraordinary stories continue to educate, inspire and unite Canadians.
