Price Reductions Announced For Key 2010 Honda
TORONTO, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc. reported combined October sales of 11,303 units by its Honda and Acura divisions, unchanged from last year. The Honda Automobile Division reported October sales of 9,224 units, down 10% over last year. The Acura Division reported October sales of 2,079 units, up 80% from last year, including record October sales of the Canadian-made Acura MDX luxury SUV.
"This is the best month we have experienced in more than a year, when comparing year-over-year sales," said Jerry Chenkin, executive vice president of Honda Canada Inc. "It further reinforces that the recovery in consumer confidence we are all hearing about is actually happening in our dealership showrooms."
Furthermore, Honda Canada has announced price reductions on three of its core 2010 Honda products effective the beginning of November.
"Now that confidence in the Canadian economy seems to be improving, we want to keep that momentum going. So as part of our commitment to Canadians, we have decided to create more value for our customers with a series of price reductions on our most popular models. The three Honda vehicles affected are the CR-V, Accord and Canada's best-selling car, the Honda Civic.
The price reductions are as follows:
$1,000 - All Canadian-made 2010 Civic sedans and coupes, including
Civic Si models
$1,500 - All 2010 CR-V compact CUV models (2- and 4-wheel-drive models)
$1,000 - All 2010 Accord V-6 engine models (sedans and coupes)
$ 500 - All 2010 Accord 4-cylinder engine models (sedans and coupes)
Now in its 40th year of operations in Canada, Honda Canada Inc. has sold more than 3,200,000 Honda and Acura passenger cars and light-duty trucks. Nearly half of all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada in 2008 were made in Canada - a higher percentage than any other vehicle manufacturer in Canada.
