Paul Ostrander, President and CEO, Holcim Canada spoke at one of the workshop sessions about how Holcim Canada meets public infrastructure demands with sustainable innovative solutions and how the company balances the triple bottom line of economic prosperity, social responsibility and environmental performance.

Some of the sustainable solutions Holcim Canada featured at the event were the use of pervious concrete especially in parking lots, concrete mixes which qualify for LEED(R) credits, use of recycled aggregates, lower clinker based cement and rapid bridge replacement technology. Furthermore, the audience also learned more about Holcim Canada's Corporate Social Responsibility programs such as engagement with local communities through Community Advisory Panels (CAP) operating at Holcim's various sites and the ready-mix drum program supporting The Hospital for Sick Children and Halton Healthcare.
