LONDON, ON, Jan. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - "First Class Escape is a true story about a Canadian Soldier, Private Lloyd Brush who landed in Dieppe France on August 19th 1942. He and his platoon made it to their objective, a row of houses on the beachfront where they were forced to surrender to the German forces. Lloyd and what was left of his platoon, were sent to a POW camp in Lamsdorf, Germany - Stalag XIII-B. At that camp, they joined forces with an international group of POW's where they changed the outcome of World War II on January 28th 1944."
Please join Dale Brush, storyteller and author Mélanie Bernier at the Royal Canadian Legion, Polish Veteran's Branch, at 601 Wellington St. North, as they are part of a historic presentation on what happened in Breslau Germany on January 28th 1944. Hear how a tip from the Polish Underground leads to an amazing escape that was developed, financed and executed by POW's at a German POW camp. We believe that series of events changed the outcome of World War II and saved countless lives on D-Day.
As an added bonus, an excerpt from an interview from Private Howard Large will be included in the presentation. He is one of four Dieppe Landing survivors still alive and living in Canada. His firsthand account of what happened on August 19th 1942 during the Dieppe Raid will be an inspiration to all Canadians.
Dale Brush and author Mélanie Bernier will be available for interviews and signing of this historic book on January 27th from 7:30 to 9:00. For media appearances, interviews or further information contact Dale Brush at 519-619-5156 or at E-mail [email protected] or [email protected].
