OAKVILLE, ON, Sept. 15, 2015 /CNW/ - Harvest Halton, the premier culinary event bringing Halton's finest restaurants and local farmers together for an unforgettable farm-to-chef experience, takes place Sunday, October 4, at Country Heritage Park in Milton. Tantalize your taste buds and sample unique dishes created by award-winning chefs from Halton Region's renowned restaurants. Each chef will be paired with local farmers who will provide ingredients fresh from the harvest.
This year's event will be held in the historic Harrop Barn providing an authentic agricultural backdrop and ensuring the event will be a success rain or shine. To enhance the experience, visitors can also enjoy live music, a Simply Local marketplace, as well as interactive displays and live demos about the story of agriculture in Halton. Tickets are on sale for only $30 in advance and $35 at the door and include food tastings. (Children 12 and under are $5.)
As a preview to the main event, Toronto Premium Outlets will be holding a "mini Harvest Halton" on Wednesday, September 16, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Executive Chef Mathew Sutherland from Latitude Food and Drink will team up with local farmers from Cody's Cows, Busy Liz's Farm Shop, Marshall's Real Farmer's Market and Wheelbarrow Orchards, to create a special menu as a teaser for what visitors will get on October 4! This event is free and open to the public.
