Gwyneth Paltrow chooses The Unscented Company

The Canadian company enjoys impressive international recognition

MONTREAL, Feb. 4, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - The Unscented Company, a Canadian company headquartered in Montreal that develops and manufactures fragrance-free products for the home and body, has recently experienced unprecedented demand after Gwyneth Paltrow, owner of the California company Goop, included it among her favourite brands. Anie Rouleau, founder of The Unscented Company, already sells the company's products through a Canadian-wide distribution network of more than 500 points of sale, with early international interest for the products coming from Hong Kong, New York and California.

"Growth has been excellent since we launched The Unscented Company in 2016, but it exploded in the last few weeks, both among big name retailers and local points of sale. In the last year alone, sales have increased by some 100%," explains Anie Rouleau.

The Unscented Company products recently caught the eye of Hong Kong-based Slowood, an enterprise entirely dedicated to natural, vegan products sold in bulk. Refill stations for the products were given a central place at the Slowood store, which were then picked up by the South China Morning Post.    

Redefining cleanliness
The household product and body care industries are facing a significant challenge in terms of the reduction of plastic. For her part, Anie Rouleau wished to tackle the problem in two ways: by reducing plastic used in packaging and by offering refill stations for products, for either in-store or at-home use.

"Since The Unscented Company's launch, we have prevented several tens of thousands of plastic bottles from entering circulation, and this number will only continue to increase. Our present growth is a sign that people are ready to change their habits. I also find it fantastic to see large companies such as Goop and the Metro and Rachelle-Béry grocery chains adapting their offer online or in-store to include products like The Unscented Company," adds Anie Rouleau.
