GTA professionals prove they know how to deliver a message
TORONTO, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - Organizations from Toronto and surrounding areas were recently presented with 11 out of 30 Silver Leaf Awards designated by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) in Canada. The awards recognize excellence in organizational communications and include government, non-profit and business communications projects.
"The fact that so many Silver Leaf winners hail from Toronto is a real testament to the talent and dedication to excellence of the communications professionals in our chapter," says Brent Carey, President of the Toronto Chapter of the IABC. "The winners have generated some truly impressive results for their organizations, and we are very proud of their accomplishments."
With four Silver Leaf Awards of Merit, APEX Public Relations was this year's big winner. "We are delighted to receive these awards, both for our clients and our teams," says Pat McNamara, CEO of the firm. "Given the IABC's rigorous judging process, it is a true honour to achieve this recognition."
Entries were evaluated on a 7-point scale against standardized criteria. Entries by AllStream and Loblaws Companies Limited were among those that scored a 5.5 or higher and received Silver Leaf Awards of Excellence. The other winning submissions by GTA organizations scored between 5.0 and 5.4 to earn Silver Leaf Awards of Merit. Winners were chosen from among 150 submissions and were judged by a panel of leading communications professionals.
