Web series to premiere on July 5, 2018 with one-of-a-kind culinary event
TORONTO, July 4, 2018 /CNW/ - Legendary chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur Mark McEwan is putting down his chef knife and picking up a fork to explore the talent, food and people shaping the culinary world with his new web series Chef to Chef with Mark McEwan.
Each episode of Chef to Chef with Mark McEwan, proudly presented by Grub Content and Centennial College, will take audiences on a journey with McEwan and a celebrated talent in culinary arts, to candidly share their war stories of successes, failures and passions, all while tasting the food that inspires them.
The first episode of the series will premiere on July 5, 2018 on social channels and digital platforms. The second episode will be released in July.
In the first episode, McEwan meets with Grant van Gameren at his Toronto restaurant, Bar Isabel. The two chefs sit down before a busy service, in the middle of the dining room to discuss what it took to open five restaurants before the age of 35. Detailing the tough decisions van Gameren had to make on his road to success, McEwan is offered some of van Gameren's favourite current offerings while discussing their most memorable culinary experiences.
Episode two features Montreal-based Chef Antonio Park at his newly opened restaurant, Pick 6IX. The Toronto eatery and bar was opened in partnership with Drake and OVO. Park opens his doors to McEwan to discuss the multiple Montreal businesses under his growing culinary empire and how he pays homage to his upbringing in South America, along with his Korean heritage. The two chefs chat about how Park's unique and creative background inspired him to highlight and create food that is humble, family-oriented, celebratory and traditional. Observe technique, respect for tradition and adaptation as Chef Park allows us to peek into his world.
Produced by Grub Content, Chef to Chef with Mark McEwan will be launched with a celebratory event at Centennial College (941 Progress Ave. Toronto, ON) on July 5, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The event will be a one-of-a-kind culinary experience, curated by Shalit Foods, along with a screening of the first episode.
