Green Earth Organics goes bananas for Bike To Work Week

VANCOUVER, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - Vancouver's Organic Grocery Home Delivery Service, Green Earth Organics, is sponsoring three commuter stations for Bike To Work Week (November 2-9).

Green Earth Organics will be handing out healthy "people fuel" - free organic apples and bananas - to cyclists at these times and locations:

    Wednesday November 4 at Union & Main from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm;

    Friday November 6 at Ontario and 10th from 6:30 am to 9:00 am; and

    Friday November 6 at the False Creek Gazebo Station (just south of
    Science World) from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Cyclists can also enter to win a free bin of farm-fresh 100% organic fruits and veggies, worth $35, at any Green Earth Organics Commuter Station. Prizes are delivered directly to recipients. Commuters can also speak with a Green Earth Organics representative about how home grocery delivery helps combat global warming.

Unlike other grocery delivery services, Green Earth Organics features only organic products, and all items sold are sourced from companies that support ethical trade and sustainability. "We started Green Earth Organics as a 'farm to fork' resource to connect local organic farmers and customers," says Green Earth President/Owner Daniel Henry. "We're always expanding our selection of dry goods, grocery and environmentally-friendly cleaning products with hundreds of products available, including hard-to-find items."

The company supports local farmers and businesses with a portion of profits going to a variety of non-profit groups. But the greatest advantage to consumers may be the time savings: shopping with Green Earth Organics takes just a few minutes online, while studies have shown that the average family spends about 2 hours grocery shopping per week.
