PORT PERRY, ON, Dec. 21, 2015 /CNW/ - The Great Blue Heron Charity Casino is proud to announce it has been awarded the Responsible Gambling (RG) Check Accreditation. This accreditation is recognized as the most rigorous RG accreditation program in the world.
"We are excited to be working with the Responsible Gaming Council on this program and to have achieved this important recognition for our work in Responsible Gaming" said CEO & General Manager Arnold Block. "We take our commitment to maintaining a high standard for Corporate Social Responsibility issues, and in particular, our obligation to provide a safe and responsible gaming environment for our patrons and community very seriously".
Administered by the Responsible Gambling Council, the RG Check accreditation program is based on an RG Index comprising a set of RGC standards. Informed by international best practices, this Index evaluates eight core standards: corporate policies, self-exclusion, advertising and promotion, informed decision making, assisting patrons who may have problems with gambling, access to money, venue and game features, and employee training.
"By becoming RG Check accredited, Great Blue Heron Casino has shown that it meets this rigourous set of responsible gambling standards," says RGC CEO Jon Kelly, "and we commend Casinos Austria International and Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation for their commitment to an independent assessment of this casino's player safety net."
Owned by the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, the casino is managed by the Great Blue Heron Gaming Company, a partnership comprised of Casinos Austria International, the Steiner Group and Sonco Gaming.
The Great Blue Heron Charity Casino is located in Port Perry, Ontario, just one-hour northeast of Toronto and features 60 thrilling table games, 535 slot machines and offers guests a number of dining outlets including the award-winning Waters Edge Buffet Restaurant.
