Grand Opening of New 5 Gears Auto Location in Mississauga
First in market multi-branded 'under one roof' auto service centre opens for business.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Sept. 16, 2015 /CNW/ - David Lush was faced with a problem. As the CEO of Prime CarCare Group, he understands the fundamental problem with the auto service business is consumer perception of it's customer service. Every driver will visit an auto service shop during their vehicle's lifetime, and very few will look forward to the experience. Lush saw that the solution to this problem was to change the focus of the auto service industry from car centric to customer centric. To put Prime CarCare on the leading edge of this shift, Lush created a new auto service concept called 5 Gears Auto Care. 5 Gears aims to differentiate itself from it's competition by providing a superior customer experience. Each 5 Gears locations houses multiple auto service brands in one building under the 5 Gears name. These brands include Speedy Auto Service, Minute Muffler and Brake, Novus Glass, along with specialty brands for oil changes and tires that vary by location The new Mississauga location will feature a Jiffy Lube.
"The concept of 5 Gears is really quite simple,'" says Lush. " We believe the time is now to speak clearly that the active ingredient in service is serving, and that with 5 Gears we service the car and serve the customer. Fundamental to that is treating the customer in terms of lifetime value and providing them with an experience that is convenient, comfortable and memorable."
5 Gears aims to separate the actual auto work being done on each car from the customer experience itself. Customers will be put at ease by the physical appearance of the reception area of each shop, which resembles a bistro rather than an auto service shop. 5 Gears has also created it's own customer service model known as G.E.A.R.S. to provide each customer with a truly comfortable and enjoyable service experience. G.E.A.R.S. stands for Greeting, Engage, Action, Report, and Sign-Off. Each franchisee will be trained to promise, deliver, and measure each of these steps. Says Lush, " We know that the price of entry in our category is quality work and we will never compromise that. However the real difference is how the customer feels about their experience with us. We will work incredibly hard to win and retain their loyalty and trust from the first moment they engage with our brand and never relinquish our responsibility and accountability to them around that. Trust is everything."
Perhaps the most innovative aspect of the new 5 Gears concept is the integration of technology never before seen in the auto service industry. From webcams in each bay being played live in the bistro area, to emailing photos of repairs to customers as the work progresses, and a newly patented Securalock box that allows customers to pick up their cars at their convenience, even outside of business hours. These technological advances all tie into the overarching idea of customer convenience and service. "Transparency and time are the new currencies of the modern business and 5 Gears must lead the way in this new business environment, to stay relevant and meaningful for the customer," says Lush.
5 Gears will be opening more locations this year and accelerate the growth of the brand further in 2016 and beyond.
