For the second year in a row, GoDaddy Canada is encouraging Canadian entrepreneurs to enter the Life Fulfilling Ventures contest to help build the small business they've always dreamed of
TORONTO, Oct. 3, 2017 /CNW/ - Just in time for Small Business Month, GoDaddy – the world's largest cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures announced the second iteration of its Life Fulfilling Ventures Contest that encourages Canadian entrepreneurs and small business owners to chase their dreams and build life-changing businesses.
GoDaddy wants to help Canadian small businesses develop a dynamic online presence. The Life Fulfilling Ventures contest was launched last year to help inspire Canadians to build their small businesses and put their passion projects online. This year, just in time for Canada Small Business Month, the lucky winner of the contest will receive $2,500 in seed money and a $250 credit for GoDaddy services that will allow them to grow their business online and further pursue their passions.
"GoDaddy's mission is to support local small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue life fulfilling ventures," said Jill Schoolenberg, Vice President of GoDaddy Canada. "For the second year in a row, we're thrilled to partner with Canadian entrepreneurs to share success stories of building a business online, encouraging Canadians to pursue their passions and enter the Life Fulfilling Venture Contest."
To enter, Canadians can submit a 100 – 250 word nomination describing why they deserve the prize and what they would use it for. Enter at www.lifefulfillingventures.ca*
As part of the program, GoDaddy Canada is teaming up with Canadian entrepreneurs and small business owners across the country to share their experience of how they have pursued their own life fulfilling ventures and what it takes to be successful.
GoDaddy is pleased to introduce customers Marc Saltzman (Canadian tech expert and entrepreneur), Kathryn Davies (owner of Magnolia Quilting Studios in BC) and Jason King and Stephane Fortin (owners of Veloz Courier based in Ottawa) as this year's life fulfilling ventures advocates.** These individuals will offer tips and advice on how they have used online tools to help further their business objectives while pursuing their passions. They are examples of the drive to pursue life fulfilling ventures every day.
Marc Saltzman has spent a lifetime pursuing his passion for technology by working in the industry as a journalist, author, public speaker and radio host, for more than 20 years. Throughout his career, Marc never took the plunge to create his own website. But this year, he finally realized the need for a website, so he teamed up with GoDaddy to create his own personal corner of cyberspace with Website Builder.
"As a tech expert, it's crazy to think that I didn't have my own website," Saltzman said. "I desperately needed a place where people could learn about what I do. Creating a website using GoDaddy Website Builder was so easy, I was able to build it in under an hour. After seeing the benefits of having a website for my personal brand, and how easy it was, I'm so excited to be part of Life Fulfilling Ventures Contest to help other Canadians get online with GoDaddy."
Quilting has been Kathryn Davies' passion for more than 20 years. After retiring from her day job a few years ago, she decided it was time to turn her passion into a business. From there, Magnolia Quilting Studio was born. Kathryn believes that no matter what stage of life you're in, it is never too late to pursue your dreams and build a business.
"Quilting is my passion, and I've always wanted to turn that passion into a business," she said. "After retiring, I finally decided to launch my business by creating a website with GoDaddy Website Builder, and since then, my business has taken off in ways I never could have imagined. Currently, I am working with GoDaddy on SEO optimization for my website."
Jason King and Stephane Fortin saw a need in Ottawa for a reliable courier service catering to small businesses. With experience in the restaurant and courier industry, Jason and Stephane were uniquely positioned to offer courier services where the customer needs come first.
"As a small business ourselves, we want to provide other small businesses with a reliable and affordable service," said Jason King, co-founder of Veloz Courier. "We are excited to continue growing our business by getting online with an optimized website, thanks to GoDaddy. For us, the next step is expanding our online ordering capabilities on our website to integrate the restaurants that we work with."
Earlier this year, GoDaddy launched its new Website Builder, an innovative service that combines a mobile-optimized website building service with an integrated set of marketing and e-commerce tools, to help anyone gain an audience for their idea or business. Using the Website Builder is an easy tool to help small business owners build a website to gain recognition.
