CALGARY, June 14, 2013 /CNW/ - (TSX: L) - Real Canadian Superstore®, Extra Foods®, and Your Independent Grocer Loblaw Companies Limited (Loblaw) banner stores, across Alberta announce that their annual Give a Little, Help a Lot™ campaign will once again support KidSport and many other local children's charities. The campaign kicks off on June 14.
"We are inviting shoppers to add $2 to their grocery bill at the checkout," said Peggy Hornell, senior director, Community Investment, Loblaw Companies Limited. "One hundred per cent of funds raised in a local store through Give a Little, Help a Lot™ campaign will go directly to local children's charities."
Since 2008, the Give a Little, Help a Lot™ campaign has assisted local children's charities across Canada. In Alberta, Loblaw banner stores Real Canadian Superstore®, Extra Foods® and Your Independent Grocer ® have raised more than $ 250,000 for local children's charities. Nationally, the Give a Little, Help a Lot™ campaign has donated more than $3.4 million with the generous support of customers.
This year, Loblaw hopes to raise $750,000 nationally with the Give a Little, Help a Lot™ campaign and be able to continue to support the needs of children's charities across Canada.
