MONTRÉAL, April 20, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On March 1, 2015, Georges Laoun Opticien launched major work on their Saint-Denis Street shop. The flagship shop remained open during the renovations, concluded April 4, 2015, in time to celebrate its 25th anniversary on Saint-Denis Street, corner Duluth.
Beauty, efficiency, comfort and the desire to reduce our energy consumption guided us during this project. Of course, ensuring that the works of art we display are well presented was also an important factor.
Montreal and Saint-Denis Street
Founded in Montreal in 1983, the family owned business has thrived throughout the fortunate and less fortunate times of Montreal and of Saint-Denis Street.
« I believe in Montreal's future as well as that of the Plateau. Saint-Denis Street, with its gabled buildings- what charm! remains a street like no other, declares company President, Anne-Marie Laoun.
I undertook these renovations to honour this sentiment. We want to grow with our amazing team. We want to serve our fantastic customers and make our neighbourhood better. We want to show great art. We're here to stay. »
The renovations
Jean-Pierre Viau, famed designer of Citrus and Laurie-Raphaël restaurants; of Tonic hair salon, and of Georges Laoun Opticien's Sherbrooke Street West shop (winner of the Grand Prix du Design), is back at the helm for the Saint-Denis shop renovation.
The words "project", "work" and "deadline" don't have the same meaning when Anne-Marie Laoun is involved. Working with her, the words that come to mind are, "joy", "spark" and "going beyond". They're precious and enriching moments for me, says Viau.
