  /CNW/ - TMX Group Chief Executive Officer Thomas Kloet today announced the appointment of 
 
  Gary Knight
  as Vice President, Trading, TSX Markets, which is responsible for trading on 
 
  Toronto
  Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange.
 
  Mr. Knight
  will join TMX Group on 
 
  November 23, 2009
  and will be responsible for client development, product development, market research and strategy for equities trading. 
 
  Mr. Knight
  will report to 
 
  Robert Fotheringham
 , Senior Vice President, Trading, TSX Markets.
 
  Mr. Knight
  joins TMX Group from Cormark Securities Inc., where he served as a senior institutional equity trader. In this role, he drove a series of programs on behalf of the organization and its customers, including the design and implementation of its algorithmic trading strategy and the development of best execution practices. Prior to Cormark Securities, 
 
  Mr. Knight
  was at OMERS, managing 
 
  $3 billion
  in quantitative index funds as a senior portfolio manager.
