Future hockey stars get boost from CHL and Old Dutch Foods
Win a day with a CHL team
TORONTO, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) and its corporate partner Old Dutch Foods are pleased to announce the CHL Future Stars contest for the 2010/2011 hockey season.
By entering the UPC code from specially-marked packages of Old Dutch® Potato Chips at olddutchfoods.ca, players, coaches, parents and fans can submit their team (players ages 6 - 12) for a shot at the Future Stars 2010/2011 grand prize. The winning team will receive a "skills and drills" instructional session with a CHL team as well as attend a game as VIP guests of that CHL team. Rogers Sportsnet will be on hand to film segments of the "skills and drills" and CHL game, and will be featured at a later date on Sportsnet's Connected News.
"We are thrilled to partner with the CHL in providing this unique opportunity for young players," says Scott Kelemen, National Director of Marketing for Old Dutch Foods. "For many players this would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and one that promotes fun, learning, and inspiration to pursue their own dreams of being future hockey stars."
In November 2008, the CHL announced a new corporate partnership with Old Dutch Foods, also involving partnership with the three regional leagues: the Western Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League, and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Last year's winning team, the Oromocto Pee Wee Eagles from Oromocto, New Brunswick, were hosted by the Moncton Wildcats.
"As a coach and a parent, I can only describe winning the Future Stars 2009/2010 contest as a life-changing experience," says Oromocto Pee Wee Eagles coach, Alan Burden. "The kids on our team are now watching these talented CHL players as they make their way to the NHL, and dream of following in their footsteps."
The five million specially-marked Old Dutch® Potato Chips packages can be found at more than 10,000 grocery, convenience and gas bar retail locations across Canada. For more information and contest rules, visit www.olddutchfoods.ca or www.chl.ca.
