Free Energy International Inc. completes thermal solar - geoexchange upgrade

VANCOUVER, Nov. 24 /CNW/ - Free Energy International Inc. ("Free Energy" or the "Company") Free Energy Solutions Inc. recently completed a solar installation in Calgary, Canada. The installation was completed after Free Energy had been called in as a consultant to assist in improving the performance of a geoexchange system. It was found that the geoexchange system was undersized to handle the winter heating loads that occur in Calgary.

In order to remain "green" a thermal superconductor tube solar system was installed to help boost the temperature of the fluid in the geoexchange loop. Five of Free Energy's thermal superconductor tube solar collectors were mounted on the roof at a steep ~60degrees angle to capture the most of the winter sun, while minimizing the unnecessary summer heat.

The thermal superconductor solar collector's efficiency makes this possible because of its ability to collect solar energy in low ambient temperatures. The solar fluid passes heat on to the geoexchange fluid through a flat plate heat exchanger. During the summer months when the system is in cooling mode, the excess heat from the solar panels will be dissipated using a liquid to air heat exchanger. The performance of the system will be monitored and the data will be analyzed to verify the future potential for solar-boosted systems in similar applications.
