The Government of Canada awards over $1 million in financial assistance to Lumi-O | InnovaPlas,
Usinage Usiflex, Unigrav and Vêtements Flip Design in Drummondville
DRUMMONDVILLE, QC, May 22, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Lumi-O | InnovaPlas Inc., Usinage Usiflex Inc., Unigrav Inc. and Vêtements Flip Design Inc. will be able to complete their projects with the help of a total of $1,030,000 in repayable contributions from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.
With this financial assistance, Lumi-O | InnovaPlas will be able to ensure its growth and improve its productivity; Usinage Usiflex and Unigrav will acquire digital equipment to support their growth. Vêtements Flip Design will use its contribution to ensure its growth through the robotization of certain production steps.
The funding was announced today by Rémi Massé, Member of Parliament for Avignon–La Mitis–Matane–Matapédia and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development. The Government of Canada's assistance will help the recipient businesses achieve their set objectives. Their respective projects will generate total investments of nearly $7 million.

Repayable contribution of $200,000 out of a total investment of $1,150,000 Founded in 2013 by a young entrepreneur, Unigrav is a manufacturing company that specializes in cutting materials other than metals. This family business cuts mainly plastics, composites, fibre cement and wood using its two cutting tables. The project aims to support the company's growth through the purchase of digital equipment. CED's contribution will help the company move to premises that are better suited to its needs and purchase a 3-axis cutting table, a 5-axis digital cutting table, as well as an automated 3-axis cutting line for over-sized parts. It is expected that the project will create six jobs. |

Repayable contribution of $100,000 out of total investment of $300,000 Founded in 1993, the company specializes mainly in manufacturing school uniforms that it sells in 75 Canadian schools, as well as corporate clothing. With 100 employees, the company manufactures the vast majority of the fabrics it uses, and its production is fully integrated, except for the fabric dyeing. The project aims to ensure the company's growth through the robotization of some of the production phases. CED's contribution will cover the cost of purchasing and installing robotic equipment, the automated fabric-spreading system and the automated folders. The project will create three jobs. |
