Fountain Tire Searching for 3 Stars of the Community
WHL/OHL collaboration honours citizens who go above and beyond
EDMONTON, Jan. 29, 2019 /CNW/ - This winter, a new partnership between Fountain Tire, the Western Hockey League (WHL) and Ontario Hockey League (OHL) will honour 60 Canadians for their contributions to their communities. Fountain Tire 3 Stars recognizes local 'stars' who go above and beyond to make their community a better place.
"We're searching for unsung heroes across the country," says Denise Gohl-Eacrett, Director, Brand and Customer Experience at Fountain Tire. "We want to hear about the people whose actions – big or small – make a difference in their local communities."
Fountain Tire 3 Stars was created to recognize everyday Canadians for their volunteerism, humanitarianism and generosity. Like the three stars awarded to players at the end of a hockey game, Fountain Tire—along with the WHL and OHL—seeks to recognize local heroes in a similar way.
Until January 31, 2019, members of the public are invited to nominate their community stars at FountainTire3Stars.com.
"In hockey, 3 Stars are awarded traditionally to the top three players who had outstanding performances on the ice," commented WHL Commissioner, Ron Robison. "Fountain Tire 3 Stars takes that concept and goes outside of the arena to recognize outstanding achievements in the community. The Fountain Tire 3 Stars program is an excellent way to recognize those individuals who make a tremendous impact, behind the scenes, in the community."
Three winners will be selected from each participating WHL and OHL city*, on the basis of nominees giving back to their community in a meaningful way.
Winners will be honoured by local Fountain Tire store owners during an exclusive game-time presentation. Winners will also receive a prize pack that includes a $250 Fountain Tire gift card, a hockey jersey from their local WHL or OHL team, and other Fountain Tire 3 Stars merchandise.
"The Fountain Tire philosophy is 'We're on this road together,' a sentiment that drives our actions and customer interactions each day," says Gohl-Eacrett. "From our head-office in Edmonton to our locally-owned stores, we believe it is important to support local communities. We bring this to life through our sponsorships of the WHL and OHL, and by supporting the local heroes that help our communities thrive."
