Fort Nelson is Shooting for the Stars by Bringing Canada's Best Music to Northern BC
FORT NELSON, BC, Jan. 29, 2019 /CNW/ - Fort Nelson is hosting the longest winter music and cultural festival that Northern British Columbia has ever seen. Sponsored by Young Living, the festival will run from the Opening Ceremonies on March 9th until the Closing Ceremonies on March 24th, 2019.
The festival features two weeks of events and exclusive experiences with a two-night concert capping off each weekend. The concert venue holds 1500 music fans and a stage that will host some of Canada's best artists.
Each weekend will host some of Canada's best new and upcoming talent with internationally acclaimed headline acts like The Sheepdogs, William Prince, and Lion Bear Fox. (Full artist listing available below and on the Northern Lights Festival website)
The inaugural event for the society will include the Northern Lights Canadian Open Sled Dog Championship, Trappers Rendezvous, Men's Traditional Dene Hand-games Tournament and an Ice Carving Competition. Exclusive experience add-ons are available for the adventurous attendees.
From March 9th - March 23rd, the community of Fort Nelson is showcasing their World's Largest Snowman, with hopes of breaking the Guinness Book of World Records.
Fort Nelson is a community that is ready to turn over a new leaf, from an industry town and welcome people from around the world to discover its rich heritage in the history of BC, its deep First Nations culture and breathtaking nature wonders.
