MONTREAL, Dec. 1, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, Women In Cities International (WICI), in collaboration with the City of Montreal, invites you to the media launch of the Needs Assessment Report which focuses on Parc-Extension's needs in urban safety. This event will take place on Thursday, December 4th from 9 : 30 am to 11 : 00 am at the Council Chambers of Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension located at 405, Ogilvy Avenue, second floor.
With the media, various partners and many of its members in attendance, WICI will present the results of its Research Report on Parc-Extension's public spaces safety needs. This large-scale research represents the first stepping-stone of the Where are the women and the girls? project and was carried on a one year time frame. During this event, you will have the opportunity to hear Ms. Mary Deros, City Counsellor (Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension), as well as residents of Parc-Extension that will share their views on what it means to be a woman in their neighbourhood.
WICI's Where are the women and the girls? project aims to consider and to act on Parc-Extension's public spaces to increase the women and the girls' safety. The project's goal is to identify the women and girls' perceived insecurity in public spaces, and to understand the factors that contribute to this. WICI is a not-for-profit network that focuses on gender equality and the participation of women in urban development. This project advances WICI's mission which is to generate and exchange knowledge on women's and girls' experiences in urban environments.
We kindly request that you should confirm your participation by December 3rd.
