Registered in corn and soybeans, unique new extended residual herbicide provides greater application flexibility for growers
GUELPH, ON, Jan. 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Powered by the unique new active ingredient Pyroxasulfone, with a group 15 mode of action, Focus Herbicide tank-mix provides corn and now soybean growers with exceptional extended residual weed control and enhanced burnoff performance with Carfentrazone, a group 14 herbicide.
"We are excited about the launch of Focus for corn and soybean growers in Ontario, Quebec, and the rest of Canada", stated Wayne Myers, Business Manager for Eastern Canada. "The unique characteristics of pyroxasulfone mean growers will need as little as 10% the amount of product compared to other soybean and corn herbicides which will provide even longer residual weed control. We think this will provide substantial time savings due to less product handling and more convenience when applying the product", adds Myers.
With soybeans added, Focus becomes one of the only herbicides applicators and farms can use across both soybeans AND corn. Focus is a very strong herbicide for Amaranth species, providing season long control of these important yield robbing weeds which include redroot pigweed and green pigweed in Canada, and two species (common waterhemp and palmer amaranth) which are challenging growers in the US with glyphosate resistance.
Focus is distributed by UAP in Eastern Canada.
