CALGARY, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - John Geddes, Chairman of the Board of Flint Energy Services Ltd. ("Flint") announced today that Mr. Ian Reid has been appointed to its Board of Directors effective September 23, 2009. Mr. Reid's relevant oil and gas services and construction industry experience spans his 31-year career with Finning International Inc., the world's largest Caterpillar equipment dealer. Mr. Reid most recently served as President of Finning (Canada), from November 1997 until his retirement in the fall of 2008. Mr. Reid, a resident of Edmonton, Alberta, holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard. Mr. Reid is currently Vice Chair of The Churchill Corporation, a publicly traded management company operating in the construction industry in Western Canada. He is immediate Past Chair of the Board of Governors of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), the largest trainer of apprentices in Canada and Alberta's third largest post secondary institution. Mr. Reid has served on the boards of Alberta Chamber of Resources, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, as well as numerous other volunteer organizations.
Mr. Reid was named one of Alberta's 50 Most Influential people for 2004 by Alberta Venture Magazine and was awarded the Alberta Centennial Medal for "outstanding service to the people and the province of Alberta" in 2005.
Mr. Geddes said, "Ian's industry background and experience will complement our existing board membership and we look forward to his added knowledge and counsel."
