First Trust Portfolios Canada announces the termination of Veritas Canadian Select Portfolio

TORONTO, Feb. 25, 2013 /CNW/ - FT Portfolios Canada Co. ("FTPC"), the manager of Veritas Canadian Select Portfolio (the "Fund"), announced today its intention to terminate the Fund effective on or about April 30, 2013. The Fund will continue to be managed in accordance with its current investment objective and strategy, but is closed to new purchases of shares.

Shareholders will continue to have the right to redeem their shares in the Fund prior to the termination date. All shares not redeemed prior to the termination date will be automatically redeemed at that time. Shares of the Fund are and will continue to be qualified investments for registered plans.

In accordance with applicable securities legislation, shareholders will be provided 60 days' advance written notice of the termination.
