First-of-its-kind simultaneous car give-away contest to hit Ontario - Contest
encourages participants to Rev Up their Fun with bingo

TORONTO, Nov. 3 /CNW/ - For the first time in industry history, bingo centres across the province will hold a simultaneous prize giveaway of 51 brand new 2010 Dodge Chargers. The Gametime Bingo contest, called Rev Up the Fun, begins November 8th in 51 bingo centres across Ontario. Running throughout the fall and concluding with final key ceremonies on December 19th, contest participants will have an opportunity to win one of the Ontario-built vehicles. This is all part of branding charitable bingo across Ontario to help raise funds for thousands of charities.

"We are excited to create this opportunity and do something that's never been done before in our history," says Peter McMahon, President, Ontario Bingo Development Fund. "At the same time we're also able to offer support to the Ontario automotive industry and still give back to local charities."

All 51 Dodge Chargers will be built in the Brampton Chrysler plant, which was an important factor in selecting the cars for the contest, says McMahon.

"This is just the latest example of how Gametime Bingo supports the local community," says Lynn Cassidy, Treasurer and Secretary, Ontario Bingo Development Fund. On an annual basis, revenues generated through Ontario bingo centre activities produce approximately $60-70M in direct funding to more than 2000 local charities and non-profits both large and small. More than 60,000 volunteers are involved in carrying out bingo events to raise money for their charities each year.

Organizations such as women's shelters, food banks, children's programs, hospitals, youth sports programs, service clubs, family counselling programs, afterschool support programs, youth shelters, health organizations, and cultural programs all use bingo funds to provide services to their local communities across Ontario.

To enter the Rev Up the Fun contest, participants are encouraged to drop by their local participating bingo centre. Participants must be 18 years or older in their province of residence at the time of entry to enter the contest. No purchase is necessary, but participants are limited to one ballot per bingo centre session.

Gametime Bingo is the charitable bingo brand of the industry's Ontario Bingo Development Fund. The Fund is supported through contributions from charities and centres conducting bingo and is managed by representatives of both charities and operators.
