First Major Investment in the PUSH Fund
MONTRÉAL, March 16, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Incorporated since the spring of 2015, the Popular University Student Housing Fund (PUSH Fund) just received its first major investment which is a donation of 1,85 M$ from the Concordia Student Union (CSU).
"It is an exciting social innovation to have a not-for-profit investment vehicle dedicated to student housing," explains Marguerite Mendell, Chair of the Board of the PUSH Fund and Professor at Concordia University. She adds that "the first project we are funding in Montreal, developed by UTILE, is a steppingstone towards meeting the need for student housing throughout the province, and the Fund is designed to integrate other private and public investors."
The Popular University Student Housing Fund (PUSH Fund) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2015 with the mission to finance the construction of cooperative student housing and to bring other investors into the Fund.
