First Atheist Conference Comes to Toronto. The Non-Conference: a conference for non-believers
TORONTO, Oct. 7, 2014 /CNW/ - The Non-Conference is a one of kind event coming to Canada's largest city. Nate Phelps, son of Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church infamy, will be headlining a stellar cast of speakers, which include writer Ali A. Rizvi who is garnering the attention from New Atheists, Richard Dawkins and Sam Harris.
We are expecting to fill the 500 seat MacLeod Auditorium, at 1 Kings College Circle, with enthusiastic Freethinkers, on Saturday, November 1 beginning at 11am.
Talks will include: Why Atheism Matters, Islamophobia, Catholic Public School, ISIS, Science and Democracy, Religious vs. Secular Ethics, and Dying With Dignity.
The conference was designed from the talk up. We ripped the headlines from today's newspapers, such as the funding of Catholic schools and physicians opting out of providing care for their patients based on religious grounds, and found the best people to speak on these issues.
Media are welcome to attend the event.
